Palo Alto Police on the Lookout for Possible Armed Robbery Suspect

PALO ALTO — The Palo Alto Police Department is looking for a suspect who allegedly tried to rob multiple victims as they walked their dogs.  According to police, “On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at about 9:30 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a report of an attempted robbery which had just occurred in the 1500 block of Dana Avenue.”

Responding officers were able to identify a possible suspect in the area of Dana Avenue who was riding his skate board towards Dana Avenue near Newell Road.  Two victims told police how the suspect skated towards them and asked for money and a cigarette.  After both men had declined to give him anything, he told them he had a gun. Again, they repeated, they didn’t have any money to give.

When a car approached, the suspect fled Northbound on Newell Street.  Police are looking into the incident and ask residents to be maintain caution when walking out and about.  The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties, about 5’9” tall, with a medium build and dark complexion.
