MARINA — Police have arrested three Salinas men after they were seen speeding out of a Marina shopping center on Thursday afternoon.

At around 1:54 PM, an officer noticed two cars speed out of the shopping center in opposite directions on Reservation Road. The officers followed one, a silver Toyota Tundra, and conducted a stop. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an Intratec Tec 9 assault pistol and a 30-round magazine. The driver, 21-year-old Christopher Moreno, was then taken into custody.

The other vehicle, a silver Nissan Maxima, was stopped by another officer. The driver, 20-year-old Adrian Aguilar, was arrested for parole violation. His passenger, 50-year-old Joshua Rojas, was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant and possession of marijuana.

Both Moreno and Aguilar were booked into the Monterey County Jail, while Rojas was processed at the Marina Police Department and released.
