MOUNTAIN VIEW – The Mountain View Police Department announced on November 17, 2016, the arrest of a drug dealer who was thought to be selling drugs to local teens in the area. On November 2, 2016, a report came in around 2 pm to the MVPD officers who, along with the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team (SCCSET), had made an arrest of a suspect who was thought to have been selling drugs to minors.

62-year-old John Morris, a Los Altos resident, was arrested on the 1200 block of Covington Drive and charged with suspicion of selling marijuana, cocaine, and heroin.

When MVPD officers served a search warrant of the suspects home, officers located 50 pounds of marijuana with more than a dozen marijuana plants, cocaine, and heroin.

“This case showcased the great teamwork between Mountain View police and the county’s task force,” said MVPD Lt. Greg Oselinsky, who also serves on SCCSET. “These drugs are now off the street, and I appreciate all the hard work that went in to apprehending this suspect in this case.”

A case was opened when SCCSET learned that Morris was selling drugs to teens near St. Francis High School in Mountain View.

An investigation into this case is still ongoing. Anyone who has any information on this case, or on the suspect, can reach out to Lt. Greg Oselinsky at 650-903-6717, who added, “This case is a great reminder that if you see something, say something.”
