John Adam Whitsell
LOS ANGELES – The November 30, 2016 sentence of 520 years-to-life in state prison put an official stop to the sexual assaults of a 9-year-old girl over a six-month period.
John Adam Whitsell (72) of Carson, was her babysitter at her family’s Canyon Country home from January 1st through June 30th of 2015, when he sexually abused the young girl in his care.
Deputy District Attorney Ani Bailey announced that John Adam Whitsell (dob 8/30/44) was found guilty on October 12th of four counts each of lewd act upon a child and oral copulation or sexual penetration with child 10 years old or younger and one count of forcible oral copulation, victim under 14 years old.
The nine counts were pursuant to penal code 290.46, with evidence of abuse presented by prosecutors over the six-day-long trial. A jury found Whitsell guilty of the charges against him.
Additionally, Whitsell has a history: In 1971, he was convicted in Louisiana of two counts of aggravated rape in two separate cases and served seven years in prison according to the DA.
