HOLLISTER — Police are still searching for 33-year-old Daniel Hult, who is wanted in connection to an illegal chop shop operation that was discovered on Wednesday night, November 30th, in Briggs Alley near College Street.
Hollister Police Officer Miguel Masso was on patrol in the area when he discovered a vehicle that turned out to be stolen. Upon investigation, he discovered leads which pointed to more stolen vehicles and parts stored at 428 College Drive.
The next day, December 1st, Hollister Police and California Highway Patrol officers — along with Santa Cruz Auto Theft Reduction and Enforcement Task Force (S.C.A.R.E.) agents — arrived on the property with a search warrant. There they discovered three other vehicles which had already been dismantled.
The investigation also identified Hult as a person of interest.
