Tractor trailer with heroin on board
VICTORVILLE – It was just a simple speeding infraction… at first.
Early Thursday morning, December 1st, a CHP officer pulled over a tractor trailer as it was speeding on the northbound 15 freeway.
During the stop, a K-9 was called to the scene, and it gave indications of suspicion at the back end of the trailer.
A search of the trailer’s contents revealed over 100 kilograms (200 pounds) of heroin. This has an estimated street value of $11 million.
Police believe the driver, who was arrested for possession and transportation of narcotics, was heading for Canada.
The arresting officer reported that “I’ve been with the Highway Patrol for 29 years and this is my largest drug seizure.”
