Woman Found Dead After Being Missing for Two Years

Two years ago, on October 13, 2014, a woman went missing and was never found until two years later. The last time someone made contact with her was when she sent a text message on the day she went missing.

The missing woman was found dead on October 5th. Authorities confirmed the identity of the missing victim on Wednesday, December 7th.

She was pulled from the San Diego bay and was identified as Elizabeth Sullivan. Sullivan, 31, was the wife of a Navy Seal and a mother of two daughters.

Neighbor Brittany Garcia noted that “the timing was interesting” when the body was found. Her body was discovered when her husband, Matt, was moving from San Diego to Maryland within the next couple of days. He was moving to Maryland with his fiancé, their new baby, and Elizabeth’s two daughters.

According to the report, Matt and Elizabeth were having some issues around the time Elizabeth disappeared. He noted that she would never just leave her children, denying the possibility of the case being a suicide.

Their neighbor believed that the case was a little odd, considering the little support the family was receiving from detectives to solve the case at the time of her disappearance. The family did not want to get the media involved at the time.

Instead of gathering media attention, the family started a GoFundMe campaign to acquire a private detective. The case went cold soon after due to no apparent leads.

Matt’s girlfriend, moved in with him two months after Elizabeth had gone missing.

San Diego police are now investigating the case as a possible homicide.

Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
