Deputies on the Lookout after 7-Year-Old’s Alleged Encounter with Suspicious Person
MURPHYS — On December 12th at around 3 PM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office caught wind of a report from a 7-year-old boy who’d been approached by a suspicious person near the intersection of Sugar Bush Lane and Azalea Court.
The boy reported that he was walking home alone from the bus stop when an adult male — described as 20-40 years old with blonde hair and a pale complexion — approached him in a vehicle and offered him a ride home, claiming to be a friend of the boy’s father. When the man could not give the father’s name, he offered the boy a piece of candy to get into the vehicle. The boy refused and the vehicle drove off.
The vehicle is described as an all-white four-door sedan similar to a BMW, with a visible Forest Meadows decal on the front passenger side of the windshield and a visible gate control device used to open the Forest Meadows security gate.
Anyone with information pertaining to the vehicle or the driver is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 754-6500.
