Deputies Recover $16,000 in Stolen Property, Christmas Gifts
CHICO — On December 16th at around 4:40 PM, County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at a residence on Wells Island Road after reports of a burglary.
A resident had come home to find the place ransacked and several items missing, including a TV, desktop computer, two iPads, jewelry, household items, antiques, miscellaneous electronics, and numerous wrapped Christmas presents.
Meanwhile, other deputies were dispatched to the area of Centerville Road after concerned reports of two suspicious male subjects opening Christmas presents outside of a maroon-colored SUV. When deputies arrived, they discovered the SUV hidden under a pile of brush and wood pallets. Another search turned up one of the suspects, identified as Joshua Olson, who admitted his connection to the SUV and to a second suspect, James Rogers, who has yet to be located.
A search of the vehicle turned up many of the items missing from the burglarized home, as well as methamphetamine, multiple syringes, and paperwork from the home showing that items had been taken from that address.
The stolen property was collected and returned, including the wrapped presents. The total value of the items stolen is reportedly around $16,000.
