SAN JOSE — The San Jose Police Department has announced the arrest of two suspects wanted in the killing of a San Jose man on November 13, 2016.
According to San Jose Police Sgt. Enrique Garcia, “On Sunday, November 13, 2016, at 1:05 PM, San Jose Police officers responded to the 3000 block of Peppermint Drive on a call of a person stabbed.”
During the initial investigation into the call it was found that the 33-year-old Gustavo Pinal had been shot in front yard of his own residence, where he was pronounced deceased.
Responding witnesses who called police initially thought that the victim had been stabbed. However it was soon determined by responding EMS that the victim was shot multiple times by a small caliber weapon. This was San Jose’s 44th homicide of 2016.
San Jose Police have come forward with new evidence tying two individuals to the shooting of Pinal – 35-year-old Manuel Ortega Sandoval and 34-year-old Manuel Corral.
Suspect Corral was arrested in the city of Gilroy, on December 15, and Sandoval was arrested on December 21, 2016. Both suspects have been booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for felony homicide and are being held without bail.
