HUMBOLDT COUNTY — On January 7th at around 11:30 PM, Deputy Sheriffs met with a woman who told them she’d been kidnapped by her estranged husband — later identified as 57-year-old Alfred Lee Wingo, Jr. — on December 27th.
She said she’d been taken from a residence in the area and driven to his home in Hoopa, where she was then held hostage for several days. She was reportedly threatened and assaulted repeatedly before finally managing to contact law enforcement on January 7th, while Wingo was out of the house. Her injuries are reportedly not life-threatening.
Wingo is currently at large and wanted for domestic violence, criminal threats, kidnapping, torture, felon in possession of a firearm, and false imprisonment. He is believed to be driving a red 2001 Subaru Forrester and is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information that may lead to an arrest is strongly encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 707-445-7251.
