William Amaya
RIVERSIDE – On Sunday morning police received calls about a possible hit and run near Magnolia Avenue and Hole Avenues.
Officers discovered three cars involved in a collision at Magnolia Avenue and Tyler Street. The driver of one of the cars involved in the collision tried to walk away and at first resisted arresting officers.
As the investigation continued, it was determined that the suspect, 38-year-old William Amaya, assaulted a co-worker at a nearby business. Then Amaya stole a vehicle from another co-worker with the threatening aid of a knife.
Amaya fled in the stolen car and crashed into two vehicles at Magnolia and Hole, then carjacked another vehicle at the KFC and crashed into two other vehicles at Magnolia and Tyler.
The suspect was booked for attempted murder, carjacking and hit and run.
