Kern Sheriff’s display cache of confiscated drugs
KERN — A burglary report came to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office on Monday morning. Police responded to a home in the 8000 block of Jetta Avenue.
Deputies discovered that several firearms were stolen. In addition, they had a photo of the suspect’s vehicle.
About an hour later, deputies received a report concerning a sighting of the vehicle near Lake Isabella Boulevard and Lake Avenue. The “vehicle sighting” call came in when a citizen saw the photo on Facebook after it was posted there by authorities.
The car was stopped at Clark Street and Delva Drive and its contents were related to what was reported stolen in the burglary. 18-year-old Xavier Mendoza was detained and led deputies to a home in the 2100 block of Commercial Avenue.
It was there that they arrested two other juveniles who were in possession of stolen property. They also confiscated 12 pounds of marijuana, 6 guns, and ammunition.
The trio were arrested for burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and conspiracy.
