The F-150 after Waits crashed it
SAN BERNARDINO — On Sunday morning, police received a call about a man with a gun. They responded to the 6900 block of Glasgow Avenue and found 31-year-old Lee Waits sitting in a parked Ford F-150.
Waits would not turn off the running vehicle, but instead took off in it at a high rate of speed. It turns out the pickup truck was reported stolen from Colton.
The chase was on, and later Waits crashed the truck at Baseline Street and Sierra Way. He then fled on foot but, as they incidents tend to go, was not gone for long.
Waits had a no-bail warrant for burglary, and another warrant for drug charges.
For Sunday’s incident he was charged with felony evading and possession of a stolen vehicle.
