Ten Terabytes of Porn Amassed by Arrested Child-Sex Predator, Warning from Investigators
Glen James Anderson
CLAREMONT — “It’s the most we’ve seen,” Lieutenant Mike Ciszek told CrimeVoice, while describing the Claremont PD Detectives’ search through 10 terabytes of evidence after Glen James Anderson (32) of West Hills was arrested on January 31st for sex with a minor and possession of child pornography.
“The suspect knew the victim’s age but went along,” Lt. Ciszek added. In October 2015, witnesses had seen a 15-year old girl leave a Claremont campus with an adult male, then later dropped off by the same man.
According to Sgt. David Hardin of the Claremont Police Department, “Anderson had gathered one of the largest collections of pornography and child pornography that both Claremont detectives and assisting LASD detectives had encountered in their careers.”
Lt. Ciszek continued, “Photos, sex tapes, videos, images, stills – all on different medias – revealed the incriminating correspondence and evidence found on several phones, computers and electronic storage devices.”
Ten terabytes of data was poured through. One terabyte could contain a million average-quality photos. Multiply that by 10.
The massive search uncovered another sexual relationship victim in Long Beach, a 13-year-old junior high student who’d corresponded with Anderson via cell phone.
The District Attorney’s Office filed nine felony counts for sex acts with minors and possession of child pornography. A search warrant launched a four-month hunt that culminated in the suspect’s latest West Hollywood arrest.
Anderson is currently in custody, held on $390,000 bail until the February 15th hearing, and faces 30 years in state prison.
Regarding children armed with smartphones, 24-hour social media and instant web access, Lt. Ciszek warned, “There’s a whole sundry of apps. Kids are more sophisticated than parents. Surprisingly, there’s a cell phone app that looks like a calculator. Type in the right code and vault opens up pictures. For example, 1,2,3,4,5 brings up a child’s puppy pictures. Another code could be porn. Apps can be great, or evil.”
For filtering, setting up limits, and restricting access to inappropriate content online or texting with strangers, parents are advised to Internet-search for the best and current parental-control and monitoring apps.
