LOS ANGELES — On February 12, 2011, 40-year-old Francisco Nila Rojas purchased a gun. On February 18, 2011, he used that gun to shoot his girlfriend, 41-year-old Claudia Tecuautzin, in the head, killing her.
On February 24, 2017, Rojas was finally convicted of killing Tecuautzin and dumping her body in Hacienda Heights near Turnbull Canyon Road and Skyline Drive.
It took a jury less than a day to bring the guilty verdict.
Rojas left the country five days after he committed the murder. He was located in October of 2015 and returned to America for trial.
In addition, Rojas stole money from Tecuautzin’s bank account both before and after he killed her.
He faces a maximum sentence of fifty years to life in prison.
