SACRAMENTO – Ethan Westbrooks plays defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams. Last year he played in all 16 games. He notched 24 tackles and 2 quarterback sacks during the season.
On Sunday night he notched another statistic when he was arrested on domestic violence charges as part of a child custody dispute.
Westbrooks played high school football at Franklin in Elk Grove. He also played at Sacramento City College.
The incident occurred on the 8700 block of Center Parkway. The female who reported the incident suffered injuries to her upper body. Fox 40 quotes officer Matt McPhail as stating that “the fact that there was a visible injury, it constituted a felony.”
Westbrooks was booked and then released from jail on Monday.
The Rams reportedly issued this statement – “We are aware of the serious allegations involving Ethan Westbrooks. We are in contact with authorities and are gathering more information. Per team policy, we will continue to respect the legal process and have no further comment at this time.”
