Jonathan Henry-Walker
VENTURA COUNTY — California State University Channel Islands, a sprawling campus on the former site of Camarillo State Hospital which treated the state’s mentally ill for several decades, apparently continues to be an occasional locus of crazy behavior.
Evidence of that allegedly arose on March 9th when 23-year-old San Bernardino County resident and student at CSUCI was contacted at his home pursuant to the filing of rape charges against him by the Ventura County District Attorney.
According to Ventura County Senior Deputy District Attorney Erik Nasarenko, Jonathan Henry-Walker was accused of rape by three separate female students, but “the evidence supported only one charge.”
At the time of the alleged September 2016 incident, Henry-Walker was a junior residing in a campus dormitory.
Hosting a party in his room, he allegedly gave the victim alcohol, following which she indicated she wasn’t feeling well.
She then lay on his bed and closed her eyes, whereupon he “allegedly raped her.” Pursuant to his arrest, Henry-Walker, a psychology major, was suspended from school. CSUCI Police Department Lit. Michael Morris confirmed that a total of three female students report being victimized by Henry-Walker in 2016 in “separate incidents” naming him as the perpetrator of forcible rape while “the victims were incapacitated at the time.”
Henry-Walker was transported from San Bernardino to Ventura County Jail where he was booked on charges of rape by force or fear, with his bail set at $100,000.
