MERCED — On March 29th just before 9:30 PM, officers arrived in the area of E. Childs Avenue and Watertown after reports of gunshots.
There they met with a man matching the description given by callers, who was observed discarding an item. 21-year-old Eruvey Martinez was detained and the item he discarded turned out to be a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun.
It was also soon discovered that Martinez had discharged the weapon in the area of Brimmer Road and Dinkey Creek Avenue.
He was arrested for multiple firearms violations and gang enhancement, then booked into jail on multiple felony charges.
