EL DORADO HILLS — An El Dorado man was arrested on Sunday, April 1, 2017, on suspicion of voluntary manslaughter after authorities believe he ran over and killed a man following an argument that same day.
El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies were called at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday regarding a vehicle-related incident to Sliger Mine Road and Highway 193 in Greenwood — which is between the towns of Cool and Georgetown.
When Sheriff’s deputies arrived, they saw that the California Highway Patrol was already on the scene and had found the body of Dennis Johns, 35. After working with the CHP and the El Dorado County Districts Office, El Dorado County Sheriff’s were able ascertain that Jacob Bohlen, 38, of Greenwood, had intentionally struck Johns with his vehicle, while the victim had been standing next to his own car.
“Prior to Johns being struck by Bohlen, it was reported that they had been in a verbal argument,” commented the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office in a news release.
