Johnny Goins
PASADENA — A 32-year-old man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for killing his sister. The shooting occurred on March 5, 2015.
Johnny Goins was found guilty of four counts – first degree murder, willful attempted murder, and two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
Goins was also ordered to pay $14,200 to the California Victim Compensation Boards and $1,300 to the victim’s mother for funeral expenses.
Tanaya Goins lost her life after her brother became angry at her, went to her apartment in San Gabriel and fired a gun multiple times through her window and her door.
The victim died at the scene and her teenage son was injured. Johnny Goins was arrested the same day after fleeing to Moreno Valley.
Apparently Tanaya Goins told Johnny’s girlfriend that he in fact did not experience violence as a child and therefore did not suffer from PTSD. When Johnny found this out, he went to vent his deadly anger at his sister.
