Suspects arrested in this incident
FRESNO – Early on Monday morning a FPD officer made an attempt to pull over a minivan near Florence and Fairview Avenues.
The driver of the van gave indication of slowing down and stopping, but then took off instead, with the officer in pursuit.
A CHP aircraft assisted in keeping the van in sight as the pursuit continued. Near Tupman Street and Lorena Avenue, four occupants of the van got out and fled.
On the ground, the pursuing officer focused on chasing the driver, who got into a gold Honda driven by a female. She attempted to reverse but crashed into a fence, at which time both she and the van driver were detained and later arrested.
The CHP aircraft did not lose sight of the other three occupants of the van, who were then also arrested with assistance from other responding officers.
The van, an unreported stolen vehicle, contained 3 loaded pistols. 21-year-old Anthony Christy, 29-year-old Joe Lucero, 40-year-old Edward Lemos and 26-year-old Freddy Adams were all booked for felony weapons offenses.
