VICTORVILLE — On Saturday night, deputies responded to 11517 Village Drive to a call of a shooting. Once there, they discovered 20-year-old Kalon Dawson suffering from a gunshot wound.
Dawson was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead.
Investigators collected witness statements and viewed surveillance footage to compile descriptions of the suspects.
At 3 o’clock the next morning deputies located, detained, and then arrested 18-year-old Eric Walton and a 17-year-old juvenile as suspects in the homicide.
They also discovered a handgun, believed to be the one used to kill Dawson.
The duo were booked for murder — Walton at HDCC and the juvenile at the Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley.
