Three arrests made in San Jose homicide case

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Police Department has announced the arrest of three wanted suspects in the city’s fourth homicide of 2017.

According to SJPD Sargent Enrique Garcia, “The San Jose Police Department has arrested three suspects responsible for the homicide of Tri Vo Minh Nguyen.” Homicide detectives arrested 21-year-old Andrew Luu, and 21-year-old Kevin Tran on April 11, 2017 in San Jose.

The third suspect, 20-year-old Christopher Le, was not arrested until April 12, 2017.

All three suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on PC 187, felony homicide.

Garica said, “On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 9:51 PM, San Jose Police Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Tully Road on a report of a person shot. Arriving officers discovered victim Nguyen suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Victim Nguyen was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The shooting occurred near Quimby Road and Branham Lane in San Jose. Investigators did not know of a motive at the time of the shooting and expect that the shooting may be gang related.
