WOODLAND — 30-year-old Marcelus Coleman of Sacramento has been found guilty of rape and a host of other crimes which occurred during a home invasion on January 11th. His charges include “forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, violations of restraining orders, domestic violence, resisting arrest, and “enhancements for a forcible sex crime occurring during a burglary and during an aggravated kidnapping.”
That night at midnight, Coleman arrived at the victim’s home — already a violation of two restraining orders. One of the victim’s children let him in, at which point he went to the victim’s bedroom and sexually assaulted her next to her sleeping two-year-old.
She tried to run, but Coleman pushed her back into the room and raped her.
The victim, unidentified by name, is reportedly Coleman’s ex-girlfriend. The pair’s relationship spans 10-plus years, during which Coleman was repeatedly and often abusive.
Coleman faces life in prison for his crimes. His sentencing will be held on May 22nd.
