On the morning of April 12, the Hollister Police Department — with the assistance of other agencies such as the San Benito Sheriff’s Deputies, UNET, and SCCSET — served warrants at two homes.
The warrants were issued as a result of an investigation into gang and gun violence in the city. Police found firearms at one house which included an assault weapon with high-capacity magazines and another handgun.
They arrested 24-year-old Jennifer Guardado on child endangerment charges.
Charges of possession of the assault rifle and possession of the high-capacity magazines were sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
Guardado was the only one arrested, but several others in this case remain outstanding. The Hollister Police Department would like to thank the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office, the UNET team and the SCCSET team for their assistance.
