SELMA — SPD responded to a shooting in the early hours of Easter Sunday. Upon arriving at a residence in the 2400 block of Sarah Circle, they discovered two gunshot victims and a third person suffering from injuries caused from broken glass.
One 19-year-old male victim was air lifted to Community Medical Center for treatment. A second victim, 16-year-old Robert Hernandez, suffered gunshot wounds to his left lower back and was pronounced dead at Selma Community Hospital.
Investigators determined that 21-year-old Pete Garcia IV of Fresno was the shooter.
Four days later, SPD located Garcia and arrested him. They then executed a search warrant at his residence in Fresno.
Garcia, a self-admitted gang member since age 12, was booked on one count of homicide, 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and a gang enhancement.
