RIDGECREST — On Saturday afternoon, a shooting occurred at Cameo Kennels in Ridgecrest that resulted in the death of the victim.
Officers first responded to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital where the victim had been taken, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim’s wife reported that her husband was shot at his job at the kennel on 1566 S. Nolan Street.
In addition, the wife said that her husband had been shot by the owner of the kennel, 67-year-old Philip Norwood.
Investigators went to Cameo Kennel and “located a crime scene.” No one was at the location, but while detectives were there Norwood arrived and was arrested and charged with first degree murder.
Norwood was not offered bail.
