Suspect in hit and run (LAPD)
LOS ANGELES — The LAPD is asking anyone with information to help them locate the driver involved in a fatal hit and run incident.
On April 28 at 11:30 PM, Mario Enrique Cortez-Cua was crossing Normandie Avenue south of 67th street. A blue Volkswagen Jetta sped by and struck Cortez-Cua.
The driver of the Jetta stopped, got out of the car, walked up to the victim and reportedly said, “Oh my God, oh my God,” walked back to her vehicle, and sped away.
Cortez-Cua died at the scene.
The suspect is a black female driving a blue 4-door Jetta with paper plates and, after the accident, visible damage.
The LAPD states, “A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
