SAN RAFAEL – Plenty can go wrong if a man travels to a hotel where men can rendezvous with a prostitute advertising her services for $250 on a website—monitored by the police.
Jamont D. Green, 31, of Rodeo, found himself in trouble last Saturday involving a woman associated with prostitution, identified only as “CV” by San Rafael police.
Green was arrested May 6 at the Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael hotel, located at 1010 Northgate Boulevard, where he was sitting inside a Mercedes-Benz in the parking lot.
Green was booked at Marin County Jail, charged with human trafficking for forced labor or services, and aiding or supervising a prostitute.
San Rafael police officers responded to an advertisement on the website Backpage.com, where a prostitute using the name “Serenity” agreed to perform sexual acts for $250.
Upon examination of her advertising photos, police determined the woman was CV, who was previously contacted by police on April 5 for prostitution related activity.
Officers located CV at the hotel, where police said she “admitted being associated with Room 233.”
Police said when Green was located outside he was in possession of a woman’s debit card, who he had driven from El Cerrito to San Rafael. When Green was previously contacted by police on April 5, he was found in possession CV’s debit card.
Evidence obtained by officers amounted to probable cause of crimes being committed, police said, and Green was taken into custody without incident.
