SAN BERNARDINO — On April 28, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a tip from an online file sharing company and Deputy Wendy Perea from the Victor Valley station was assigned to investigate.
The tip included video and images of child pornography. Perea then, with a search warrant, secured the subscriber information for the ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Then, on May 18, the results came in and identified the account holder. 30-year-old Jonathan Robert Jones was identified as the suspect, as well as the person on video engaging in sexual acts with a 5-year-old.
Investigators searched Jones’ home and seized evidence related to this crime. He was then arrested and his bail has been set at $500,000.
The SBSD says, “Through this investigation, Perea learned that Jones used to live with his family in the Colton area. There is evidence that indicates there may be additional victims in the Colton and/or Victor Valley area. Anyone with information is asked to contact either the Victor Valley Station at (760)552-6800 or the Crimes Against Children Detail at (909)387-3615.”
