MERCED — On June 7th, the Gang Violence Suppression Unit developed a lead suggesting that known gang member Pedro Montoya (22) was in possession of a firearm at his home.
Being that he is a convicted felon, Montoya is prohibited from owning firearms of any kind.
Police arrived at his home on the 400 block of Lesher Drive, only to discover that he was indeed in possession of a .45 caliber handgun and ammunition.
He was arrested and booked on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, receiving stolen property, and gang enhancements.
