MODESTO — At around 4:30 PM on Monday, June 12th, police responded to a number of 911 calls reporting a shooting on the 800 block of Sutter Avenue.
Emergency personnel discovered 25-year-old Terelle Swearengin of Sacramento had been shot. Though he was taken to a local hospital, he passed away as a result of his injuries.
A second victim, an unidentified 22-year-old man from Modesto, was also taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation points to a someone having shot at the two from a vehicle as they walked southbound on Sutter with two others.
A motive has yet to be determined and suspects are still being sought.
