SAND CITY — 45-year-old Timothy Allen Murray has been sentenced to two years in prison for his role in an incident earlier this year.
On May 10th, a Sand City officer noticed Murray’s vehicle making an illegal left turn and conducted a traffic stop.
Murray, sitting in the front passenger seat, was visibly intoxicated and appointed his friend — who, as it turned out, didn’t have a license — as designated driver.
Due to these circumstances, both men were ordered out of the vehicle so it could be towed.
The officer searched the vehicle and discovered a revolver on the passenger seat where Murray was sitting. Being that Murray is a convicted felon, he is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms of any kind.
On May 23rd, Murray entered a no-contest plea to a felony count of unlawful possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
