Hernandez, Morales and Tapia
HESPERIA — Early on the morning of March 7, the HPD was called to a vacant lot near 11th Avenue and Live Oak Street. The report said that an unresponsive male was lying in the lot.
Upon arrival, they discovered that 33-year-old Juan (Johnny) Ochoa was dead from gunshot wounds.
As the investigation began, police quickly arrested 36-year-old Moises Morales on March 9 and 23-year-old Kevin Tapia on March 15.
Some time elapsed before a third suspect, 29-year-old Leonel Hernandez, was arrested on June 17. All three are charged with murder.
While Hernandez’ bail is $1 million, the other two have a bail of $1.5 million set.
All three have their next court dates on June 22.
