MODESTO — Police are working to identify the suspect in a stabbing on the morning of July 3rd.
At around 5:30 AM, officers answered a call for assistance on I Street near 4th. There, they discovered a man on the sidewalk who’d been stabbed and was in need of urgent medical assistance.
He was rushed to a local hospital where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead as a result of his wounds.
Preliminary investigation suggested that the victim and suspect had gotten into a physical altercation in an alley between 4th and 5th Streets, which eventually moved onto the sidewalk. That was where the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing.
Per a Modesto PD press release, “The suspect is described as a Hispanic or white male adult in his 20’s, 5’6″ to 5’9″, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and red suede shoes.”
