Tracy Stephan Fulford
SANTA ANA – On Saturday night, a 19-year-old female came to the SAPD with her parents and an allegation of sexual abuse from her basketball coach.
Her story involved her coach when she was 16-years-old at Segerstrom High School. He allegedly offered private lessons, during which time he led her into a storage room where they engaged in inappropriate sexual acts.
These actions continued past her 18th birthday, when they then continued to engage in consensual sex away from the school.
The victim further alleged that she met with the school coaching staff on July 8th to report these actions, but stated that she believed they tried to discourage her from speaking out.
On Sunday July 9th SAPD officers went to the 52-year-old Tracy Stephan Fulford’s residence. He was working in Irvine that day. They then went to his job and arrested the suspect.
After further interviews at the SAPD, Fulford was booked on charges of child molestation, lewd conduct and distributing harmful matter to a child. Bail was set at $100,000.
The SAPD further said, “Suspect Tracey Stephan Fulford has been a basketball and track & field coach in the SAUSD for 37 years, often providing students private lessons. SAPD Detectives believe there may be additional victims and ask anyone with information contact Detective E.
