CLOVIS — After a Clovis resident was the recent victim of identity theft, authorities pursued an investigation that led them to interview a Fresno couple.
34-year-old Monica Macias and 29-year-old Jose Cortez were questioned, and subsequently arrested, for identity theft, possession of personal information, burglary, and conspiracy.
Macias was in possession of an electronic file that contained the personal information of thousands of people.
The Clovis Police Department reminds you that “if you find that you’ve been the victim of identity theft, you can call the law enforcement agency where you live. If you live in Clovis, we are available 24 hours a day at (559) 324-2800.”
