Police Investigate Early-Morning Shooting at Kelseyville Home

KELSEYVILLE — Early this morning just before 3:30 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the 5000 block of State Street to investigate a report of a residential intruder. Officers were also alerted that one of the residents had been shot.
At the scene, they discovered a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
The Major Crimes unit responded to the scene and have begun and investigation.
The suspect, yet to be identified by name, is estimated to be around 5’6″-7″ in height and was last seen running southbound from the residence while wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Lake County Sheriff reports in a press release that the north end of State Street will be closed indefinitely due to the investigation. Residents are also encouraged to avoid the area.
