Sexual assault suspect who posed as ride service driver gets court date

BEVERLY HILLS — A man who posed as a ride service driver and sexually assaulted his passenger has been assigned a court date of August 3, 2017.
On the day of the crime, the suspect posed as a ride service driver and picked up a female passenger in West Hollywood. He is then said to have driven a short distance away before pulling over at an undisclosed location in Beverly Hills and committing sexual assault.
On May 20th, detectives conducted surveillance and identified 40-year-old Carlos Omar Pichinte of Los Angeles as the primary suspect.
He was arrested and booked for rape, as well as other felony charges. He remains in custody on $1,350,000 bail.
