Knife used in attack (SRPD)
SANTA ROSA — On August 2nd just before 3 PM, officers arrived at the Sonoma County Indian Health Clinic to investigate a report of a stabbing.
There they discovered a 13-year-old victim with a serious stab wound to his upper arm, which he’d apparently sustained at an apartment on Stony Point Road. Officers were told he was brought to the hospital by a family member.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes team took over the investigation and interviewed the victim at the hospital, during which time they learned he’d been stabbed during “a family dispute with a family member’s boyfriend.” He was also found to have a punctured lung and was transported via helicopter to Oakland Children’s Hospital for additional treatment.
He has since been released.
Follow-up investigation into various leads led to the identification and arrest of 18-year-old Andru James Campbell in Santa Rosa on August 7th.
He has been booked at the Sonoma County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
