HOLLYWOOD — On June 29, 1987, 21-year-old Jade Maurice Clark was parked outside of a Hollywood nightclub on Highland Boulevard when someone attempted to carjack him.
Both Clark and the suspect had guns, and both got off shots. While Clark shot the suspect in the arm, he was shot and killed in the incident.
With modern technology in play, authorities were finally able to connect DNA found on the bullet that killed Clark to now 53-year-old Pierre Romain, and on Thursday he has convicted or first degree murder with a special allegation that he used a gun in the commission of this crime.
Romain faces up to 27 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on September 15th.
