FRESNO – On Wednesday, August 16, a stolen 1997 Honda Accord was spotted in the vicinity of Olive and Sylmar. The Fresno Police Department’s Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) collaborated with the Fresno Police Department’s helicopter crew to trail the Honda.
The driver, Lee Moua, becoming aware of his extra company, stopped and abandoned the vehicle near Thomas and Clark. He led officers on a short foot chase before being detained, accomplishing only to add a misdemeanor charge to his case for resisting arrest.
Upon a search of his person, Moua, an identified Mongolian Boyz Society gang member, was found with a loaded .25 caliber handgun in his pocket. As a convicted felon, it is illegal for Moua to possess a firearm or ammunition, of which he had both. He was also carrying a shaved key.
The 29-year-old was booked into the Fresno County Jail on several felony charges including auto theft, illegal possession of a firearm/ammunition, felony auto theft warrant, and misdemeanor charges for resisting arrest and possession of a shaved key.
