K-Mart in Bishop
BISHOP — In this town of 4,000 residents located about 20 miles from the Nevada border, a group of six current and former employees of the local K-Mart were arrested for embezzling merchandise totaling over $50,000.
On August 11, 20-year-old Lorena Castro and 20-year-old Jasmine Corona Vargas were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Both are former employees of K-Mart.
As the investigation continued, four more arrests of current employees occurred on August 14 — 33-year-old Rachel Dominguez, 31-year-old Jamie Lynn Hutchinson, 35-year-old Isabel Darlene Morello, and 36-year-old Nicole Adrien Rogers. The four were charged with embezzlement of over $950 and conspiracy to commit a felony.
All six women live in Bishop.
During the arrest, police also contacted 42-year-old Tony Diaz III and discovered that he was wanted for an out-of-area felony warrant and arrested.
