Glock that GPD confiscated
GROVER BEACH — Early on Tuesday morning, at approximately 4:00 AM, the GPD was called to the 200 block of Ramona Avenue concerning a trespassing incident that escalated into a physical fight.
Officers encountered several men, including 35-year-old Rudy Jesse Perez Jr., the suspected trespasser. Perez had obvious facial injuries and was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
As officers continued at the scene, they attempted to speak with 19-year-old Gilbert Tyler Duran Hooper. However, the young man tried to fight with them, during which time they discovered a Glock handgun hidden in Hooper’s waistband.
Backup was called in and Hooper was summarily detained and arrested without further incident. He was then charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, participation in a street gang, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.
