Rosie Wilson and Brandon Williams
PALMDALE – The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has announced that two life sentences in state prison were handed to a Palmdale woman and her boyfriend for the killing of her 23-month-old son.
Brandon Jerel Williams (27) was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison and Rosie Lee Wilson (23) received a 15-years-to-life sentence.
According to the evidence presented at trial, Williams would frequently hit and scream at the victim, Anthony Wilson. Weeks prior to the fatal beating, the child’s mother left the toddler with Williams and when Wilson returned, she found the victim limping with several injuries, prosecutors said.
On the day of the toddler’s final beating, Wilson again left her child with her boyfriend. Upon her return, Anthony had massive bruising throughout his body, including his head and groin area. She did not take the toddler to the hospital until the following afternoon, prosecutors added.
Wilson had also tried to conceal the toddler’s injuries with make-up and baby powder, according to witness testimony.
On Aug. 21, 2014, merely three months after Williams moved in with Wilson, victim Anthony Wilson was beaten so badly that he remained in a vegetative state until he died in hospital during October of that year, prosecutors added..
On May 30, 2017, Williams was found guilty of first-degree murder, torture and assault on a child causing death. Wilson was convicted of one count each of second-degree murder and child abuse.
