Conrad Bruce Nickerosn
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY — The recently-popular mantra of those approaching their dotage that “60 is the new 50” or even that “70 is the new 60”, while clearly speaking to the advances in this generation’s medical science and a contemporary social mindset may indeed be a clear indication that chronological age doesn’t have much real meaning to sexual predators currently qualified for Medicare coverage.
Evidence of that came on August 31st with the arrest of 69-year-old Lompoc resident Conrad Bruce Nickerson pursuant to an investigation by detectives of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
According to SBSD Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover, Nickerson was the object of a protracted investigation in which he has been “suspected of molesting two female juvenile victims over the course of several years.”
Nickerson was contacted at his Lompoc residence and “arrested without incident,” whereupon he was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail and booked on two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child. His bail was set at $200,000, which he posted “the same day,” and he is now in the community waiting adjudication of his charges.
Hoover indicated that the SBSD is actively seeking public assistance to determine if there are additional victims of Nickerson, and anyone with any information regarding his activities is encouraged to contact the SBSD Criminal Investigations Division at (805) 934-6170.
