LONG BEACH — 36-year-old Jacinto Trujillo was sentenced on Monday to 41 years to life in prison for the sexual abuse and murder of his 9-year-old stepdaughter.
The heinous crime occurred on April 27, 2012. On that day Trujillo was walking hand-in-hand with the little girl near the area of Woodruff Avenue and Willow Street.
He then pulled out a razor blade and slashed her throat, killing her.
Trujillo placed the body in a church parking lot nearby. Officers arrived and found the suspect, who admitted to multiple occasions of sexual abuse with the girl that spanned months.
Along with the prison sentence, Trujillo will also have to register as a sex offender.
