Amelia Markarian
MONO – In the early evening of September 7th, 65-year-old Amelia Markarian was driving northbound 395 near Highway 89.
Regrettably, she was intoxicated and, as she drove, crossed over the solid yellow line and collided with an oncoming driver.
The head-on collision killed the other driver, Christopher Harper of Coleville.
Markarian’s blood-alchohol level was over the legal limit. She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and DUI.
Her bail is set at $2 million and her next court date is October 10.
