Daniel Medina and Kacie Miller
FRESNO – A man and woman have been arrested and charged with felony counts of burglary, possession of stolen property, identity theft, and grand theft. Kacie Miller, 29, and Daniel Medina, 27, both of Fresno, raided several farm workers’ vehicles in the month of September.
Farm workers parked two cars near Friant Road and Willow Avenue before heading to the vineyard for their Sunday shift on September 3rd.
Upon their return around 11:30 AM, they realized their unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through and several items had been taken, including driver licenses, social security cards, credit and debit cards, cash, tools, keys, and a phone. A report was filed with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives were able to pull video footage from the McDonalds near Bullard and Blackstone where one of the stolen cards was used. The footage contained images of Kacie Miller in a 2013 black Acura using the card.
As the investigation continued, it became apparent this was not an isolated incident but a string of robberies which occurred in the following locations (as reported by Fresno County Sherriff’s Office):
– September 1st: Near Kamm and De Wolf Avenues in Selma.
– September 15th: Cornelia and Rose Avenues near Raisin City.
– September 15th: Near Hwy. 41 and Manning Avenue.
– September 15th: Near Cherry and Nebraska Avenues.
Miller and Medina were arrested on September 19th after a search warrant was served at a home on the 300 block of North Clark Street in Fresno and some of the reported stolen items were recovered.
During the arrest, Daniel Medina identified himself as 34 year old Miguel Colima. His true identity was found out a day later and Medina now faces an additional felony charge for false impersonation of another.
